FRESH PERSPECTIVE + WEEKEND RECAP

This weekend was spent adventuring—mentally, emotionally and physically. I spent my time working on personal and business projects, shopping and eating some yummy goodness, and if you follow me on Instagram, you'll see that I am working on finding inspiration in everyday life.

I think things tend to get monotonous and as the daily stress hits, we just look toward finding comfort and sanity, and sometimes start losing the excitement of life or seeing the beauty in the small things.

As the blog expands, I've also been focused on creating a lifestyle. I took some time to explore my mind and my surroundings, as well as my creativity this weekend and I am so excited for some future opportunities and ideas to start taking flight.

It may be the nice weather we've been having in Ohio or the fact that I will be almost a quarter of a century old in a little over month, but I am starting to really believe that we need to seize every moment in the day—sitting around doesn't cut it, get out and live.

(Side note: I also cut 5 inches off of my hair, and I feel very free, so that could also play a part in me feeling refreshed and ready to explore life and all it has to offer.)

As basic as this is, I have been on the hunt to find aesthetically-pleasing restaurants, cafes and little boutiques and shoppes, and I came across Old Scratch Pizza, an artfully prepared wood-fired pizza place with craft beer and cocktails. If you're familiar with downtown Dayton, it's located on Patterson, right when you get outside of the "city." It's so delicious and super cute inside, so go!

Aside from the yummy pizza, I also got a super cozy hoodie sweater from H&M, and a little clutch from Forever 21. I am not someone to share a lot of fashion on the blog, but part of creating a brand is to explore every facet of what makes us human—plus the real achievement here is that this outfit is comfortable, but doesn't look like I rolled out of bed, because let's be real, comfort is key.

Along with exploring Hills and Dales Park in Kettering and feeling cozy in my new sweater and my favorite high-waisted jeans, I also finished—drum roll, please—the blog's first intro video about what exactly With a Side of Lemons is!

It will be making an appearance later on the blog this week!

What things did you accomplish last weekend and what do you hope to achieve this week?
